The present investigation determines the level of knowledge of mothers about the early stimulation of children under 1 year of age who attend the area of growth and development of Hospital II - EsSalud Tarapoto. May - October 2017. Quantitative research, descriptive method, cross-sectional. The population was made up of all the mothers who come along with their children to the CRED office; to which probabilistic sampling was applied for convenience, amounting to 171 mothers. The Instrument was a questionnaire, which was validated by expert judgment. The results found were: The level of knowledge of mothers of children under 1 year of age, in the motor area is high with 48.5%, while in the coordination area it is medium with 36.8%, in the social area the level of knowledge that mothers have is high with 60.2% and in the language area the level of knowledge is high with 46.8% of the total number of mothers surveyed. When determining the level of knowledge of mothers of children under 1 year of age in the different areas of development, it is concluded that 36.3% of the sample are located in the average level of knowledge with a tendency to low with 32.2% .
