The quality of customer service has taken an important place in the daily activity of human beings, that in order to maintain a level of commercial or service stability, it is essential to provide quality care to its consumers. The following study describes the problem at the University Medical Center - Tarapoto, with the purpose of developing a system based on existing models, such as the Artificial Neural Network model, which simulates the function of a human neural network, interpreting the information entered by the user, to determine what the expected result requires, the use of the Rational unified process software development methodology, better known as RUP, and the use of the Jhon Durkin Expert Systems methodology with the objective of improving the quality of care provided in the aforementioned hospital. The study is based on the pre-experimental research modality, which studies the existing comparison of the pre and posttest groups, evaluating the results generated before and after the implantation of the system. The study was carried out with a sample of 49 patients each group, both experimental and control. The implementation of the system based on artificial neural networks, will allow improving the care provided in this enclosure, reducing the time of the process to determine the specialty in attending, and thus improve the quality of care that it provides. The interpretation of the results will show what many experts say in quality issues in patient care; stating that good customer service benefits the management of its parts to generate a greater increase in quality compared to the traditional service model.
