The following Thesis research was developed in the Professional School of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the National University of San Martín - Tarapoto, with the purpose of qualification of Civil Engineer, as a contribution to society, to solve the Problematic of the Rotational Slip of the section km 08 + 000 to km 08 + 300 of the Departmental Highway Route SM-106 Section Empalme PE-5N (Puente Colombia) - Shapaja - Chazuta. The contribution consists of preparing a Proposal to stabilize the slope of the Rotational Slip section, analyzing the poor state of the road, solving the problem, as it will improve the level of traffic, communication that facilitates the transfer of residents and agricultural production from the localities of the districts of Shapaja, Chazuta and villages of Bajo Huallaga to local markets and at the same time make available to the National University of San Martín an investigation that will serve as a basis for future development projects. Basic engineering studies were carried out. Therefore, the present Thesis develops the analysis and design of engineering, as well as the budget of a solution to stabilize the upper slope, under the minimum static conditions of the slope of a representative section of 300 meters in length of the slope of the road, protection of the theory and field tests that were used for the analysis and design of the proposal. As a result of the study, it is shown that the section studied would fail in important static conditions Safety Factor F.S> 1.5 (Swedish Method), seriously endangering human lives that would use the track. The proposal is due to a massive movement of land, reducing the slope and therefore increase of the Safety Factor for local stability and later the construction of Sidewalks or Terraces that will help to stabilize the slope of the rotational slip. In conclusion, in addition to the engineering work, a useful tool is provided to stabilize upper slopes on the roads of the Region.
