The Oasis - Andiviela lagoon road geographically links the localities of Sector La Planicie, Shupishiña, Nuevo Morales, Polvoraico, Shucushca, and Sector Andiviela. Currently, the road has serious transportation problems that hinder free transit; in times of rain, pedestrian traffic becomes impossible, turning the road into mud and stone streams that represent a serious risk for pedestrians and vehicles. The main objective of the thesis project entitled: "Design of pavement and art works for the Oasis - Andiviela lagoon road, Morales district, San Martin province and region", is to determine the thickness of the cold asphalt pavement that requires the lowest cost, to guarantee that the pavement meets its projected useful life span and to design the necessary art works to be executed on mentioned road. Preliminary studies were carried out for the appropriate geometric and structural design, such as topographic data collection, excavation of pits for sample extraction, which were analyzed in laboratories with the respective tests. The analyses for the design were carried out with the Peruvian Technical Standards for Road Design (DG-2018) and using appropriate calculations in order to obtain real results. The traffic study was also carried out considering the volume of round-trip traffic, for which two traffic counting stations were installed for one week on the road under study to be paved; the section requires a reconstruction of the structures and works of art, new ones will be built and the necessary ones will be replaced. All these analyses allowed to obtain an adequate Geometric Design to improve the trafficability conditions and the economic and social development.
