The present thesis project called "Definitive Design of the Drinking Water System of the cc.nn. Kichwa Morillo - District of Shanao, Lamas-San Martin ", was developed in the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the National University of San Martin - Tarapoto. The present work of Thesis consists in the Design of a Potable Water Supply System by gravity for the Native Community of Kichwa Morillo, belonging to the District of Shanao, Province of Lamas, Department of San Martin. The town of Morillo does not have a water supply system; the populations are supplied with water for the human consumption of filtering wells in poor condition and rain water that gather in precarious containers, risking their health. The evacuation of the sewage is given to the streets, orchards of houses, the final disposition of the excreta is given in rudimentary latrines and they are in infrahuman conditions, contaminating the urban helmet and increasing the incidence of gastrointestinal, parasitosis and dermal diseases in local people. In addition, the lack of health education programs in water management and the final disposal of wastewater produced by domestic use has been perceived, with no public health programs being disseminated, with an impact on the high rate of various diseases and the presence of malnutrition. in the population, increased spending on the family basket for health, disadvantages for local urban development and unfavorable conditions for private investments. In the first instance, the Drinking Water Supply System was designed, considering all reinforced concrete structure, which was called the Conventional System. It was observed that it was possible to optimize the use of construction materials using structures of alternative materials, so a new design of the supply system was developed, which was called Optimized System. Finally, to obtain conclusions about the technical-economic feasibility of water supply systems for human consumption in the rural area of the Peruvian jungle, a budget was elaborated per system; proving that the greater incidence in costs is produced by the aerial transport of the materials to the area of the work.
