Objective: To know the risk factors associated with bronchiolitis in patients under 2 years of age in the Pediatric Department of the Hospital II-2 Tarapoto. Period January - July 2019. Materials and methods: A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study was carried out, with a sample of 70 patients under 2 years of age diagnosed with bronchiolitis. The results: The incidence of bronchiolitis cases according to age predominates children under 6 months with 60% (n = 42) in patients under 2 years in the Pediatric Department of the Hospital II-2 Tarapoto. Period January - July 2019. The host factor is associated with bronchiolitis under the 6 months of age with 60%, OR (1,228), Chi2 (0.001), and the family history of atopy or asthma factor with the 64.3%, OR (1.034); Chi2 (0.010) in patients under 2 years of age at the Hospital Pediatrics Service II- 2 MINSA Tarapoto. Period January-July 2019. The social factors associated with bronchiolitis are the presence of siblings of school age with 68.6%, OR (1,400), Chi2 (0.020); overcrowding with 70%, OR (1,273), Chi2 (0.021); origin of urban area with 68.6%, OR (1,000), Chi2 (0.040) and non-LME with 64.3%, OR (1,000), Chi2 (0.030) in patients under 2 years of age Pediatric Department of the Hospital II-2 Tarapoto. Period January- July 2019. Conclusion: The risk factors associated with bronchiolitis in patients under 2 years of age are the age of less than 6 months, family history of atopy or asthma, siblings of school age, overcrowding, origin of urban area and non-SCI, in the Pediatric Department of Hospital II- 2 Tarapoto.
