This thesis, addresses the study and analysis of the effectiveness of the process of counting coins (variation of the error) made manually, and applying an Artificial Vision System with conveyor belt. This thesis aims to demonstrate that, by applying an Artificial Vision System with a conveyor belt, it is possible to reduce the error (expressed in percentage terms) that is generated in the result, by carrying out a coin count manually. Regarding the methodological aspect of the research, the quantitative methodology has been followed. Under this perspective, we intend to measure the degree of error and the time it takes to perform a coin count, that is, we intend to measure whole numerical quantities. Among the most important results achieved, are that, the Artificial Vision System with conveyor belt that was designed and built, worked correctly. Another of the most important results achieved is that the counting time could be determined, both for the manual form and for the Artificial Vision System. In addition to measuring the average time of each of them. Among the main conclusions reached are that, the null hypothesis is rejected, therefore, the alternative hypothesis is accepted.
