The research was carried out in the district of Calzada, specifically in the Trancayacu stream, the place where the wastewater treated by the treatment plant is discharged. The main objective was to "Evaluate the kinetics of deoxygenation produced by wastewater discharge in the Trancayacu stream". For this purpose, 5 sampling points were established every 50 meters from the discharge point of the treated wastewater, where 8 samples were collected for BOD5 analysis and in situ temperature measurement; this made it possible to determine the deoxygenation coefficients at each sampling point, as well as the biochemical demand exerted. The highest BOD5 concentrations were found at the first sampling point and the lowest concentrations at the last point located 200 m downstream of the discharge point, reaching an average concentration of 63.2 and 8.4 mg BOD5/L at the first and last points, respectively. It was also determined that the higher the temperature, the higher the deoxygenation coefficient K1 and vice versa, with an average K1 of 0.24 d-1. It was determined that among the 5 sampling points, the percentages of oxidation of the substances at day 1 were between 18.60 and 21.62%, at day 5 between 64.26 and 70.40% and at day 20 between 98.36 and 99.23%, with the lowest and highest percentages corresponding to the last and first sampling points, respectively.
