Much of the economic growth of the regions of Peru is influenced by the adequate conditions of connection between its most important economic centers. This is the case of the San Martín region, whose economic development is favored by agriculture and tourism activities. These economic activities are possible because of the existing road infrastructure. However, there are still deficiencies, for example, on the road that serves as a way of passage in their districts of Yuracyacu and the Valley of the Conquest of the province of Rioja. Therefore, the following thesis is a proposal to improve transport in the section of the mentioned road, starting from the town center Yuracyacu, to the town of Valle de la Conquista, in the province of Rioja, San Martín. The main objective is to improve the transport of cargo and passengers from a proposal of geometric design of the road (as an alternative to the existing one). Likewise, it is designing the relevant signage in order to give the security that every road must have both designs from the Road Geometric Design Manual DG-2014 and the Manual of Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Roads 2016, respectively. From basic engineering studies, such as topography, geology and geotechnics, it has been possible to define the best criteria and geometric design solutions. The road, currently a terrain track, would be a third class road designed at 40 Kph, increasing by 15 Kph the speed with which users are currently mobilized a roadway width of 6.0 m and longitudinal slopes have been defined in the order of 3.5%. And with regard to road safety, we have chosen to use the most appropriate safety devices, as well as the regulatory, preventive and informative signs. Demarcations have also been defined on the pavement in order to complement information and prevent accidents on the designed road. Finally, a calculation routine (macro) has been developed in Microsoft Excel that allows the automatic calculation of certain design parameters based on the DG-2014 standard, which allows automating the design. Finally, based on the geometric design and the raised signaling, an improvement in the transport of cargo and passengers is achieved, since travel times and costs would be reduced. And this is the important part in terms of the profitability of the project and the subsequent economic growth of the region.
