The following research work was carried out in the Professional School of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the National University of San Martín for purposes of professional qualifications as Civil Engineer. Its impulse has been used to perform a comparative analysis of concrete under the technique design "Standard practice of selection on proportions of concrete of normal, heavy and massive weight (ACI 211.1)" and design techniques "Vitervo A. O'Reilly Diaz", Whose results are expected to contribute to the local Concrete Technology to advance and improve, while showing the desire that these new knowledge could be applied with the rigor that this thesis is manifested for the benefits of our region and our country. This work has been carried out preliminarily by presenting an analysis about our society that today distinguishes, chooses and covers many needs for its economic development, and that to achieve this it has no other option than to use it (in the particular case of the Construction) the available aggregates while still saving the cement to the maximum with the technological conditions that are possessed without requiring new investments in technologies and without demanding in the concrete the guarantees of mechanical resistance and durability from the proportioning. Guided by this reason, this research has been developed using limestone aggregates with quality certification and applying after the literature review the methodology of the Committee 211.1 of the American Concrete Institute and the methodologies of Professor Vitervo A. O'Reilly Diaz, after carrying out the relevant Statistical comparison to test the validity of the results obtained. As a result of this comparative study, the Dr. Sc. Vitervo A. O'Reilly Diaz’s methodologies show successful rupture strengths with considerable cement savings in the production of concretes, as well as workable concrete, more compact and less Porous surfaces, which do not depend on the principle of aggregate granulometry or the restriction on the use of aggregates with particles of inadequate forms, but depend on the rigor with which the tests are performed to obtain the optimal combination of aggregates, the quantity of water required for the required consistency and shape characteristic of the aggregates used in the concrete mix. The validation of the hypothesis of this research is achieved with comparative critical analysis. Finally, it is possible to obtain mixtures of concrete with a minimum volume of voids between the particles of the aggregates and with a minimum content of cement paste while still obtaining the desired properties in the concrete and without the necessity of dealing with conventional processes of general practice based on the principle of ideal granulometry.
