The general objective of the present study was to determine the relationship between hemoglobin level and academic performance in students of the Health Sciences Faculty, 2019; the study was quantitative, descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional approach under a correlational design. The population was selected by means of the probabilistic sampling, having as study sample 56 students of the academic cycle 2019-I, 28 of each professional career (Obstetrics and Nursing), a data resgitration form was applied as an instrument to obtain information. The most frequent results indicate that the sociodemographic characteristics were: 40 students were between 17 and 19 years old, female (40 students), nursing students (28 students) and obstetrics students (28 students), according to their origin, most of them are from the Province of San Martín (33 students). The hemoglobin level was found to be within normal concentration values (12 to 16.6 g/dL) with 79% of cases (representing 44 students), followed by 21% (12 students) suffering from mild anemia (10 to 11.9 g/dL). Forty-two percent (47 students) are at an ongoing performance level (10.5 - 14.4 points), 3% (3 students) are at baseline (0 - 10.4 points), 5% (6 students) are at achievement (14.5 - 20 points). The most frequent hemoglobin level with academic performance in nursing and obstetrics students was found in 38 cases of students who presented normal hemoglobin concentration values (12 to 16.6 g/dL) with an ongoing performance level (10.5 to 14.4 points). It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between hemoglobin level and academic performance in students of the Health Sciences Faculty, 2019; being a bilateral sig. (0.046 < 0.05) and a Chi Square (X2C =6,150) higher than the value of tabular Chi Square (X2t =5,991) associated to 2 degrees of freedom and alpha (α=0.05); corroborating that both variables are dependent.
