The proper functioning of traffic lights in a city is very important, because it maintains the order of vehicular flow and avoids accidents between vehicles and pedestrians, which is why the design of an information system developed as it fulfills the function of detect, send, receive and alert the incidents of any traffic light; The main objective of the study is to determine the influence of an information system in the warning of the operability of traffic lights in the Tarapoto district; The information system has been designed for the control of the operability of the traffic lights and a small-scale prototype of the traffic lights that make up the selected sample has been built, and finally the operability of the traffic lights has been analyzed based on the emulated incidents after the implementation of the information system. Likewise, the module that detects the incidents and the data reception module is created, the most important results of the investigation show that the average time of communication of incidents was drastically shorter with the information system, this showed that the system is reliable and effective to issue real-time alerts of the detected incidents. The main conclusions establish that the traffic lights alert improved with the implementation of the information system, the percentage of recorded incidents was 100%, the working hypothesis was verified, and this allowed us to affirm that the implementation of the information system influenced the traffic alert operation.
