The present research work had as objective to determine the relationship between life styles and the nutritional status of the older adults in the Human Settlemen La Victoria in the District of La Banda de Shilcayo September 2019 to February 2020. Methodology: non-experimental with a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach, the sample was made up of 40 older adults, the "Lifestyle Scale" was used as instrument, developed by Walker, Sechrist and Pender, in 1990 and modified by the graduates in Nursing Diaz R; Delgado R; and Reyna E (2010). Results: 60.0% (24) of the older adults of the Human Settlement "La Victoria", are between the ages of 60 and 70 years old, 57.5% (23) are males, 66.5% (26) are unlettered, 52.5% (21) are cohabitants, 67.5% (27) are farmers, 57.5% (23) have 1 to 3 children, and 45.0 (18) profess the Adventist religion. The 85.0% (34) of the older adults of the study have unhealthy lifestyles, and only 15.0%, (6) have healthy lifestyles. The 57.5% (23) of them have an inadequate nutritional status, where 27.5% (11) are thin, 20.0% (8) are overweight and 10.0% (4) are obese; only 42.5% (17) are older adults with an adequate or normal weight. In the eating dimension, 28.0% (7) found an unhealthy lifestyle. In the activity and exercise dimension, the results showed that 24.0% (6) of the older adults in the study did not have a healthy lifestyle. In the stress management dimension, 33.3% (5) indicated having a healthy lifestyle. Regarding the interpersonal support dimension, 16.0% (4) do not have good lifestyles. Likewise, in the self-realization dimension, 26.7% have healthy lifestyles. Finally, with respect to the dimension of responsibility and health in the older adult, it was obtained that 20.0% practice unhealthy lifestyles. Concluding, that there is a significant relationship between life styles and nutritional status of older adults (P = 0.01).
