The present research work had as objective: the relationship between stressors and coping strategies in the clinical practices of nursing students of the Universidad Nacional de San Martín in Tarapoto. Descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional study. The sample was made up of 191 nursing students, using the technique: interview and two questionnaires as instruments. Results: According to sociodemographic factors, 53.4% were between the ages of 17 and 19 years old, 96.3% are female, 89.0% are dedicated to study and 11.0% study and work. According to the dimensions of stressors: lack of skills: 59.7% (114) show sufficient skills. In the dimension impotence and uncertainty, 59.2% (113) show impotence and uncertainty. In the dimension of relationship with the teacher and classmates, 64.4% (123) show dissatisfaction. In the dimension relationship with classmates, 79.1% (151) show dissatisfaction. In the emotional involvement dimension, 69.6% (133) show emotional involvement. In the dimension of damaging the relationship with the patient, 82.2% (157) mentioned that it was not affected. In the academic overload dimension, 82.2% (157) mentioned that there is an academic overload. According to the coping strategy dimension, 14.1% (27) present active coping, 13.6% (26) present acceptance, 12.6% (24) present positive reinterpretation and planning, 11.0% (21) present instrumental social support, 8.4% (16) present self-distraction, 6.8% (13) present emotional social support, 5.8% (11) take religion into account, 4.7% (9) humor, 3.7% (7) self-blame, 3.1% (6) denial, 2.1% (4) emotional venting, 1.0 (2) behavioral disengagement, and 0.5% (1) substance use.
