Agriculture is the most important activity tn the San Martin region,, representing 29% of the gross value added; its largest production is rice, converting it the region with the largest rice production of Peru. The problems that the region shows are the faithful reflection of the national problem, the rice consumption is extremely high, the same that goes of to the hand with its production, that as well is affected by the increase of the import in the recent years. The objective of the present work was to determine the impact of rice demand on rice production in the San Martin region, period 2010 - 2018. The hypothesis proposed was that there is evidence that the demand for rice has an impact on rice production in the San Martin Region between 2010 and 2018. The type of research was applied, of explanatory level, and non-experimental - longitudinal design. The method used was the modeling - inferential method. In conclusion, rice demand explains 99.87% of rice production in the San Martin region, period 2010 - 2018, with a very strong positive correlation, with a Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.9993. Similarly, the impact of rice demand on rice production is 1.60, which indicates that for every ton of rice required, rice production will have a variation of 1.60 additional units. Likewise, it reflects an autonomous production to the rice demand of 20,801.7. units.
