The aim of this study was to determine the valuation of self-care in patients with hemodialysis treatment at the Equilux-Morales clinic; June-October 2019. A quantitative, non-experimental, simple descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out; the population consisted of 46 patients with hemodialysis treatment in the Equilux-Morales clinic of both sexes who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria; the technique used was the survey and the instrument was the questionnaire. Data were processed manually, using the Excel program after the code table and matrix table were created. Results: Among patients with chronic renal insufficiency treated with hemodialysis at the Equilux-Morales Clinic, 54.3% are in the age group over 60 years old. The 54.3% are male. 65.2% are of married marital status. 39.1% are housewives, and 34.8% are public employees. 39.1% have secondary education. With regard to the valuation of self-care in patients with hemodialysis treatment at the Equilux-Morales clinic, 53.8% consider food and liquid control adequate; 46.2% consider personal hygiene and skin care inadequate; 53.8% consider treatment and care of vascular access inadequate, while 26.9% consider it to be adequate; they consider sleep and recreation to be inadequate for 50.0%; 80.8% consider interpersonal relations to be inadequate; with regard to the general valuation of self-care, 57.7% consider it to be adequate; 26.9% consider it to be not very adequate; and 15.4% consider it to be inadequate. Conclusions: The valuation of self-care in patients with hemodialysis treatment at the Equilux-Morales clinic; most consider it to be adequate.
