The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and self-care of older adult patients with pulmonary tuberculosis treated at the 9 de Abril Health Center, 2023. This is a quantitative research study with a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional design. The population and the sample consisted of all the older adults with pulmonary tuberculosis attended at the 9 de Abril Health Center, 2023. Regarding data collection, an informed consent form was previously used, survey methods were used for both variables and a questionnaire was used as an instrument, where the required items and their respective alternatives are presented. The results were processed in statistical programs such as Microsoft Excel and SPSS 27, and data analysis was performed by projecting the results in tables. The results showed that the age range of the older adult patients with pulmonary tuberculosis between 60 and 65 was 82% (46), 52% (29) were cohabiting, 73% (41) had a high school education, and 81% (45) were from urban areas. The 68% (38) of patients have regular overall self-care and 71% (40) of patients have good overall self-care, In the self-care dimension related to personal development and social interaction, 35% (20) of the patients had regular self-care. In the dimension of the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and self-care of older adult patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, the patients between 60 and 65 years of age had a greater relationship with self-care, 82% (46), and the result was good self-care. It was concluded that the majority of the patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the 9 de Abril Health Center presented regular self-care.
