The objective of this study was to compile bibliographic information on the use of fertilizers used for rice cultivation in the district of Cacatachi, province and region of San Martin 2022. Regarding the methodology, the study was descriptive and exploratory. The information was collected through surveys and systematized for discussion with bibliographic sources, theses and scientific articles. The main chemical fertilizers used by rice producers and the characterization of the plots were also described. It was concluded that the district of Cacatachi has clay loam soils, with a pH range of 4.12 to 7.85, the varieties Valor and Esperanza are planted, 13 bags/h-1 are used per hectare, such as urea, diammonium phosphate, ammonium sulfate, nitro s and sulpomag. The 56.59% of producers have more than 10 years of experience in cultivation, 99% do not receive technical assistance, only 1% perform soil analysis, 38.69% know about the use of fertilizers, 52.27% fertilize by experience, 99.56% know about organic fertilizers and 46.59% use them for their effectiveness. Likewise, the characterization of the rice plots in the district of Cacatachi is composed by three irrigation committees, which are Shupishiña, San Juan Bautista and Shucushco, including 229 properties, and a total of 1538.75 ha-1, of which only 647.71 ha-1 are registered, giving a total of 42.09%. Furthermore, the characterization by size and according to irrigation committee, showed that most of the plots are between 1 and 3 ha-1, followed by 3 to 6 ha-1, then 6 to 9 ha-1 and less frequently plots of 9 to more ha-1, distributed among the total number of plots and registered plots.
