The present result is the product of the different activities and tasks carried out, whose objective was to establish the degree of association between depression and academic performance, time of COVID-19 in Human Medicine students of the National University of San Martín- 2020. conducted a cross-sectional, prospective, observational study in 30 students of the I cycle of Human Medicine of 2020 -semester I, who were administered the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale test and the Documentary Guide as instruments. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was applied, because the sample is less than 50. The results obtained indicate that 14.3% of students without depression have a good performance, and 18.8% have a very good performance; 64.3% of students with mild depression have a good performance and 68.8% have a very good performance; 21.4% of students with moderate depression have a good performance and 12.5% have a very good performance. In conclusion: it was obtained that the Spearman's RHO coefficient as the bilateral significance is equal to 0.661 > 0.05, then the null hypothesis (H0) is admitted, with a confidence level of 95%, for which it is affirmed that: Does not exist Association between depression and academic performance in Human Medicine students at the National University of San Martín-Tarapoto- 2020. It is necessary to clarify that these results are relative and may change in space and time.
