This thesis addresses the improvement and expansion of the storm drainage system by gravity in the urban area of the town of Ledoy in the province of Bellavista, San Martín region. The study area presents a risk of flooding due to rains, in addition to lacking paved access roads. The study began with the description of the area with scope at socioeconomic, educational and quality of life levels of the inhabitants to support the magnitude of the design. Subsequently, in order to obtain the differences in dimensions for the design, a topographical survey, which had the support of the topographical teams of the Provincial Municipality of Bellavista through the loan of equipment, the topographical study also involved data processing, generation of a digital terrain model and obtaining terrain elevations in the study zone. Then, based on the location of the houses and the previously measured topography, the direction of the surface water flow was traced on the ground plan and one hundred and ninety-eight stretches and their slopes were defined. The characterization of the soil in the area is based on a study carried out in the laboratory of the National University of San Martín. Finally, the existing Technical Standards for the design of storm drainage were applied. For the design of the ditches, the HCANALES software was applied; Based on flows, slopes, roughness of the material and rectangular geometry, the tie rods in each section were calculated to finally define geometries with adequate dimensions for construction, which resulted in fifteen types of concrete cross sections with a thickness of 15 cm and pedestrian crossings. Finally, the considered works of art were structurally designed and then the conclusions and recommendations of the research work were elaborated.
