The execution of works are necessary activities for the growth and improvement of the quality of life of a population; water and sanitation projects are usually carried out in rural and urban areas, whose main purpose is to carry and collect water, taking into account that the main items in these projects are: the laying of drinking water networks and the laying of sewage networks. The work is supervised by safety personnel, who must analyze the level of risk at the time of the activities themselves; the research takes as an example the execution of two projects located in the city of Moyobamba. During 3 months the execution of the items has been recorded and observed. Using the MOSLER method, it has been possible to identify, evaluate and analyze the risks in the activities of: cleaning, excavation, pipe laying, backfilling and disposal of material, which have latent hazards, such as the work tools used, the rough terrain and the weather conditions. It is concluded that 99% of the risks during the laying of water networks are of low and very low classification, these can at most trigger blows, scratches and minor injuries; 27% of the risks identified in the execution of the laying of sewage networks are of high and very high classification, which are more dangerous due to the use of heavy machinery and larger excavations. These risks can have fatal consequences for workers, therefore, the use of a safety and health plan is necessary and of fundamental support when preventing and controlling risk, and its use demonstrates an improvement in the management of people's safety.
