In order to evaluate the effect of sowing density of biocidal plants (“nim” and “white pinion”) in different agroforestry arrangements with mahogany for the control of Hypsipyla grandella Zéller, a trial was installed under a Design of Completely Randomized Blocks (DBCA), with 03 blocks, and with 05 treatments formed by the association of “mahogany” plants, “cocoa” and biocides plant (“nim” and “white pinion”) established at two distances: T1 (Control): “mahogany” + “cocoa”; T2: “mahogany” + “cocoa” + “nim” (1.0x3.0m); T3: “mahogany” + “cocoa” + “nim” (1.0x1.0m); T4: “mahogany” + “cocoa” + “white pinion” (1.0x3.0m); and T5: “mahogany” + “cocoa” + “white pinion” (1.0x1.0m). The evaluation variables considered the percentage of attack (%), number of attacks, depth of caves, survival of larvae and position of attack. To verify the effect of the treatments, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed and to know the differences according to the nature of the treatments, the multiple Tukey means comparisons were performed. After multiple comparisons of means, it was observed that treatments 3 and 5 were statistically similar (p≤0.05), but as a whole they had the lowest attack percentage of H. grandella (0.95% and 2.86% respectively) in comparison with the rest treatments (T4 = 13.33%, T2: 16.67% and T1 = 46.67%). It is concluded that the greater density of sowing indistinctly of the biocidal plant significantly reduces the attack percentage of H. grandella in the “mahogany” plants.
