The main objective of this research was to determine the effect of biol obtained by homolactic fermentation of fruit waste on the growth and development of Lactuca sativa L. “Lechuga”, located in the district of Rioja, province of Rioja, San Martín region, Peru . The biol used was made from fruit waste (papaya, banana, pineapple and apple) from the municipal market in the province of Rioja. The design used was a completely randomized design (DCA) with a total of 4 treatments and 4 repetitions obtaining a total of 12 experimental units, the treatments to be used were three doses of biol (10%, 25%, 50%) and a witness. The statistical analysis included an analysis of variance and the Dunnett test was used as a posteriori test. The application of the biol was carried out every 15 days from the transplant of the lettuce in the final field and the evaluation of the plant growth parameters was carried out after 60 days. The parameters evaluated were plant height, diameter of the plant, number of leaves on the plant and weight of the fresh material with roots. A better result was obtained with the treatment (T1) that contained a 10% dose of biol, giving greater growth to the plant in height with an average of 16,950 cm, average diameter of 49, 875 cm, average number of leaves of 16,325 and weight of fresh matter with root of 166.55 g.
