Piricinco soft corn is part of the diet of San Martin farmers and villagers in general; however, it is traditionally planted with low yields ranging from 0.5 to 1 t/ha according to information obtained verbally from farmers. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of macronutrient (NPK) fertilization on the Piricinco corn crop in acid soils, in order to improve the development and yield of the crop. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of macronutrient (NPK) fertilization on the Piricinco corn crop in acid soils, in order to improve the development and yield of the crop. The research was conducted in the Aucaloma Agroforestry Estate, San Roque district, Lamas province, from August 2020 to January 2021. A completely randomized block design (CRBD) was used, with a 3 x 3 x 3 factorial arrangement. Three doses of nitrogen-urea (70, 110, 00), three doses of phosphorus-diammonium phosphate (50, 70, 00), and three doses of potassium-potassium chloride (100, 120, 00) were used, giving a total of 27 treatments (including the control), with three replications/treatment and 81 experimental units. The seeds were selected and sown directly at a distance of 0.80 m between rows and 0.60 m between plants. Prior to planting, the soil was prepared, weeded and a physical-chemical analysis of the soil was carried out to liming and formulate the doses of urea, diammonium phosphate and potassium chloride. Three fractional fertilization stages were carried out. The first application was applied two weeks after planting, when the plants had two or three leaves (V2-V3), the second application was made when the plant was in rapid growth (V4-V5) and the third application was made 30 to 35 days after planting (V6-V7).Activities such as thinning, hilling and weed control were carried out manually, and irrigation depended on rainfall. Harvesting was done manually. The results found indicate that T13 (110 kg/ha urea + 70 kg/ha FDA + 120 kg/ha KCl), reached the maximum yield with 1750.7 kg/ha, a figure that exceeds the national average of soft or starchy corn (1540 kg/ha); in contrast, the control reached the lowest averages in all parameters, which shows the need to use fertilizers in this corn breed. Likewise, it has been observed that Piricinco is an early race, exhibiting male inflorescence at 67-77 days. This research demonstrates that it is possible to achieve high yields in Piricinco maize in acid soils with applications of more than 100 kg/ha of urea together with the incorporation of diammonium phosphate and potassium chloride.
