The research is descriptive in nature and aimed to describe the development of fruit fly monitoring by the National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA) in the San Martín region. Reliable bibliographic sources, including scientific research, SENASA reports, articles, and experiences from the study area monitoring, were utilized. After conducting this activity, the information was systematized, and some details from the investigation in the San Martín region were reorganized. The analysis focused on the infestation percentage of fruit flies in the main host plants, based on SENASA records. The findings revealed an increase in infestation percentages, such as in caimito with a high-risk percentage of 57.98%, similarly observed in pomarrosa, guayabo, chirimoyo, guaba, mango, and Arabica coffee. On the other hand, citron had a 7.75% infestation with a high risk, while star fruit, sapote, papaya, cocona, rough lemon, cocona, and grape reached infestation percentages ranging from 5 to 1.08%, with a medium to very low risk. The fruit species affected in the San Martín region, according to SENASA reports, include citrus, mango, guava, coffee, guayaba, and sapote, with higher incidences in the provinces and districts of the region. Specific species were identified in different varieties, such as Anastrepha barnesi in tangelo in Juanjuí, Anastrepha obliqua, Anastrepha montei, Anastrepha chiclayae in Valencia in Mariscal Cáceres for citrus, Anastrepha fraterculus, Anastrepha leptozona in mango in Tarapoto, Anastrepha fraterculus in guava in Lamas, Ceratitis capitata in coffee in Rioja, and Anastrepha striata and Anastrepha serpentina in guayaba and sapote in Juanjuí and Rioja, respectively.
