The objective of this research was to determine the effects of environmental training on the valuation and conservation of the Cuipari Lake by the population of the Alto Amazonas province. In the methodological part, a single group of 32 randomly selected villagers was studied under a descriptive type of research. Initially, a survey was applied to the villagers to determine their initial state, after which the training was carried out and evaluated through a post-test in order to determine the effects. Regarding the conclusions, significant advances were found when evaluated with the post-test, since the villagers valued the forest for recreational purposes, evidenced the ecological importance with respect to the valuation of the lake. They consider that the environmental services provided by the ecosystems of the region are very important, which is why they are disposed to pay a tax for the conservation of the lake, as well as to carry out works for its care and conservation. They also became aware that the contamination of the lake is a consequence of having violated the natural laws of the environment and that care includes the entire population, committing themselves to prevent the extinction of any type of plants and animals. All of them stated that the use and abuse of plastic bags should be controlled, especially in the lake, and that packaged food products, such as beverages and canned food, should be made of returnable glass, to avoid their accumulation in the environment. Finally, it is concluded that the application of the environmental training program improved the valuation and conservation of the Cuipari Lake by the villagers.
