The objective of this research work was to determine the level of adaptation to university life in students of the first cycle of the Faculty of Health Sciences. National University of San Martín-Tarapoto. January-June 2021. Material and method: quantitative, prospective, descriptive cross-sectional study. The sample was made up of 68 students of the first cycle of the Faculty of Health Sciences-UNSM-T. Results: The students who participated in the study are between 16 and 17 years old, 85.3% are female, 55.9% are from rural areas, 60.3% live with both parents. In the personal dimension, 54.5% (18) of the first cycle nursing students present an intermediate level of adaptation. Similarly, the first cycle students of the Professional School of Obstetrics present an intermediate level of adaptation with 60.0% (21). In the Interpersonal dimension, 45.5% (15) of the first cycle nursing students presented an intermediate level of adaptation; similarly, the first cycle students of the Professional School of Obstetrics presented an intermediate level of adaptation with 57.1% (20). However, in the Career dimension, 66.7% (22) of the first cycle nursing students present a high level of adaptation. Similarly, the first cycle students of the Professional School of Obstetrics present a medium level of adaptation with 51.4% (18). In the Study dimension, 54.5% (18) of the first cycle nursing students present an intermediate level of adaptation. Similarly, the first cycle students of the Professional School of Obstetrics present an intermediate level of adaptation with 54.3% (19). In the Institutional dimension, 45.5% (15) of the students of the Professional School of Nursing presented a high level of adaptation, and similarly the students of the Professional School of Obstetrics also presented a high level of adaptation. In conclusion, more than half of the students who participated in the study are at a medium level of adaptation to university life.
