The objective of this research was to determine the incidence between cocoa productivity and the level of employment in the district of Juanjui, province of Mariscal Cáceres, department of San Martín 2014-2018. Regarding the methodology, it was an applied research, at a correlational level, and with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 317 inhabitants. The technique used was a survey and the instrument was a questionnaire. The main results were that, cocoa productivity was mostly at the regular level with 47% of the respondents due to the fact that farmers get several tons of cocoa from the planted hectares; employment level was mostly found to be at the high level according to 37% of the respondents, since many of the overtime hours performed are recognized by the employer. A significant incidence between productivity and employment level was also evidenced, since the p-value was 0.000 (p<0.05) and its relationship coefficient was 0.734, indicating a positive and high correlation. It was concluded that the research hypothesis, which states that there is an incidence between cocoa productivity and employment level, was accepted.
