Relationship between child abuse and self-esteem among children at Kindergarten 307, Shapaja district-2022 The purpose of the research, which took place in Kindergarten No. 307 in the district of Shapaja, aimed to ascertain the linkage between child maltreatment and self-esteem in children between the ages of 4 and 5 years, by virtue of which a descriptive study of correlational design was used, consisting of 68 parents of children in the educational establishment. The child maltreatment questionnaire, composed of 55 statements with Likert answers, was used to measure the type of child maltreatment; with three dimensions (physical, psychological, and neglect), and to measure self-esteem a questionnaire that is based on 20 items with Likert-type alternatives. Psychological abuse was identified as the one with the highest percentage with 47.06% in children from kindergarten 307 in the district of Shapaja, with the lowest presence being the physical type with 16.18%. The level of self-esteem is at a medium level with 60.29%, with the high level being the one with the lowest percentage with 17.65%. At the same time, it is demonstrated that a connection exists with self-esteem and the types of physical abuse (37,427), psychological (48,099) and neglect (44,658). It is concluded that child maltreatment and self-esteem in children are significantly associated. This result allows us to point out that both variables have a similar behavior, with the calculated chi being 57.273, higher than the tabular one (9.49).
