This is a descriptive exploratory thesis work, for this reason this research had the purpose of collecting information from bibliographic sources such as research, articles and experiences that were developed before the problem of planting density in cowpea beans (Vigna unguiculata), in the province of Tocache, to have this information and systematize it, for this reason the following objectives were formulated: Analyze and determine the best planting density as well as analyze and determine yield based on the planting density of cowpea beans (Vigna unguiculata) in the province of Tocache, San Martín, year 2022. Therefore, the following conclusions are reached: the best planting density for cowpea beans (Vigna unguiculata) is between 217,447 and 180,000 plants/ha-1 with distances between rows of 40 x 20 cm and/or 40 x 25 cm, with a yield of 1 470 Kg.ha-1 , but to achieve these results, requirement climatic which were taken during 2020 to 2022 (SENAMHI, 2022) whose values for minimum and maximum temperatures were from 21.04 to 31.39 ºC and a total annual precipitation of 2 328.88 mm with a relative humidity of 81.91%, which has allowed obtaining a yield that fluctuates between 2.0 and 2.5 t/ha. in the District of Tocache. Regarding the yield based on the sowing density of the cowpea bean (Vigna unguiculata), a profit of 1500 kg.ha-1 was recorded with a population density of 150,000 to 200,000 plants/ha-1, taking into account that this it is subject to the spacing that is managed between rows and plant, in addition to the edaphoclimatic conditions that occur at the time of sowing for planting.
