Play techniques to develop social skills in 5 year old children of I.E.I. N° 288 in Rioja, 2021. The objective of this thesis was to determine to what extent play techniques develop social skills in 5 year old children of the I.E.I. N° 288 in Rioja, 2021. The type of research was applied with a quasi-experimental design, the technique was observation and the instrument was an observation form, with a sample of 50 children. The main results were: the level of social skills development was significant in the experimental group, with an average score in the pretest categorized as not at all developed (71.6±14.6), while the posttest revealed a notable increase categorized as developed (171.4±18.8); on the other hand, in the control group, the average scores remained on the scale of little developed (105.3±15.1 pretest and 109.7±16.1 posttest). In conclusion, there is a significant difference between the results of the posttest of the experimental group and those of the control group, obtained through the Mann-Whitney U test statistic, with a value of z=-5.590, which indicates a probability of less than 5% (0.000<0.05), with 95% confidenc. It is demonstrated that the play techniques contribute significantly to the development of social skills in children.
