The main objective of this searching was to determine the amount of ash for controlling the incidence of nematodes in cocoa seedlings in Soritor district, for which the biometric characteristics of the growing and developing cocoa seedlings were evaluated. level of incidence of nematodes and the optimum amount of ash in the substrate prepared to control the incidence of nematodes. For this purpose the applied type research was worked with a complete random design with 4 experimental treatments, considering in the substrate different percentages of ash, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% in weight in addition to a control treatment. In the operative part, we worked with a sample of 50 seedlings with 10 repetitions of each treatment, obtaining that treatment 3 (ash to 15% by weight) was the optimum to combat the infestation by nematodes in the roots of the seedlings, for growth and to combat leaf spotting. Likewise, the highest incidence of nematodes occurs in the control treatment (95%), with treatment 3 having the lowest incidence (40%) in relation to the presence of nematodes in the root of the seedlings. Finally, assuming a confidence level of 95%, it is concluded that treatment 3 (ash to 15% by weight) is presented as optimal for the control of nematodes in cocoa plantations; treatments 1,2 and 3 are also significant, which reaffirms the effectiveness of ash as a pest controller.
