Determination of the bearing capacity of soils for housing construction in Huapo - Lamas - San Martín - 2022. The main problem considered in this research was that the town of Huapo faces problems due to disorganized occupation, lack of basic studies and inadequate land use planning, which led to the execution of this thesis. The objective of this study is to determine the bearing capacity of soils for the construction of houses in Huapo, taking a period of execution of (05) months where a rigorous process is outlined following the current regulations to determine the bearing capacity of the soil in Huapo. The initial tests, which include moisture content, liquid limit, plastic and granulometric analysis, provide crucial information about the composition and structure of the soil. The triaxial compression test evaluates the soil's resistance to loads, calculating the bearing capacity. The results help create zoning plans for the safe construction of buildings in Huapo. The results showed that the moisture content ranged between 15%-24%, the liquid limit ranged between 27%-47%, the plastic limit ranged between 17%-26%, and the plastic index ranged between 10%-23%, the classification of the soils by SUCS are of type CL (Low plasticity clayey soil) and by the AASHTO method the soils are of type A-4(8), A-6(9), A-7-6(13), A-7-6(14) and A-7-6(15) (silty and clayey soils) and the bearing capacity is 4. 19 gr/cm3, 6.12 gr/cm3, 3.18 gr/cm3, 2.72 gr/cm3, 1.72 gr/cm3 and 4.06 gr/cm3. It was concluded that the Huapo soil is of the low plasticity clayey silt type and that by means of the statistical significance test it was determined that the established hypothesis is acceptable with a p-value (0.036) < significance value (0.05).
