The aim of this research is to determine the psychological factors associated with academic performance in the general statistics course of the students of the Universidad Nacional de San Martin (UNSM), semester 2020-I. The research type was applied, explanatory, non-experimental, cross-sectional. The population consisted of 428 UNSM students who took the general statistics course in the 2020-I academic semester, from which a sample of 203 students was obtained by simple random sampling. The data collection instruments were the Rosemberg self-esteem scale, the Zung anxiety scale, the student motivation scale and the Wagnild and Young resilience scale. Statistical analysis was performed using multinomial logistic regression theory (MLR) with a significance of 5%. The following results were obtained after the analysis: The RLM model proposed was significant (sig <0.05), it explains 83.7% of the variability of the dependent variable (Pseudo R2 = 0.837), the model correctly classifies 82.3% and the likelihood ratio test is significant (sig <0.05) which indicated that the coefficients of the independent variables (factors) contribute significantly to the prediction of the dependent variable (academic performance), therefore the results obtained can be generalized to the population. It is concluded that motivation, self-esteem, anxiety and resilience are psychological factors associated with academic performance in the general statistics course of UNSM students academic semester 2020-I (model sig <0.05, pseudo R2 = 0.837, factors sig < 0.05). Likewise, students in the UNSM general statistics course of the 2020-I academic semester had a medium level of motivation, a high level of self-esteem, a moderate level of anxiety, a very high level of resilience, and a medium academic performance.
