Investment funds and their impact on the pension funds of AFP affiliates in Peru, period 2010 – 2021 It is important to highlight that during periods of economic stability, the private pension system, through pension fund administrators, exhibits a logical tendency towards the growth of funds and, as a result, experiences an increase in profitability. However, it has been evidenced that during economic crises, such as the one caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, pension fund investment portfolios become vulnerable as they depend on fluctuations in the financial market and various external variables that can affect them. Consequently, this uncertainty generates a significant impact on individual funds of the affiliates. In this regard, the objective of the research was to determine the relationship between investment funds and pension funds of affiliates of the AFPs (Private Pension Fund Administrators) in Peru during the period 2010-2021. The research was characterized as applied, non-experimental, and correlational descriptive in design. The population and sample consisted of historical data regarding pension funds and investment funds carried out by AFPs in Peru during the period 2010-2021. The technique employed was documentary analysis, and the instrument used was the documentary analysis guide. The analyzed results showed a significant relationship between investment funds and pension funds of AFP affiliates in Peru during the period 2010-2021. The bilateral significance achieved was 0.011, and the coefficient of moderate positive correlation was 0.699. This allowed us to conclude that when AFP investments increase, the profitability of the funds will be favorable.
