Influence of microbial contamination in the washing area of solid waste collection vehicles on the health risk of municipal workshop personnel Municipal solid waste are considered an important breeding ground to generate a wide variety of microorganisms, many of them pathogenic for human beings. The washing area of waste collection vehicles in any city is one of the sources of proliferation of many of these, in addition to this, the execution of activities in the washing and cleaning of vehicles after collection and unloading of solid urban waste, without protective measures by the staff, probably generate ideal conditions that favor the growth and development of microorganisms and subsequent infection, which could harm the health status of these workers, either directly or indirectly. The general objective of this research was to determine the influence of microbial contamination in the washing area of the solid waste collection vehicles on the health risk of the personnel of the municipal workshop in the city of Moyobamba, with an evaluation period of six months. The research has a quantitative approach and a non-experimental type with a correlational design, for which the workers of the municipal workshop have been considered as the population, being a total of 25 workers, no type of sampling was applied, since the population is relatively small and the entire population was willing to participate. Water from vehicle washing was analyzed to determine the presence of microorganisms and questionnaires were applied to workers to determine the level of microbial contamination and the health risk under their perception, and BIOGAVAL methodology was used to determine the level of health risk. The main results showed the existence of a significant correlation of high degree between microbial contamination and sanitary risk according to the perception of the workers who took part in the research.
