The aim of this research was to determine the level of academic stress caused by the use of virtual classrooms in students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Obstetrics. National University of San Martín. Tarapoto May - October 2021. The sample consisted of 190 students from the Professional School of Nursing and 190 students from the Professional School of Obstetrics of the UNSM. The SISCO inventory instrument, developed by Barraza (2011), was used. 68.7% (261) of the students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery present a medium level of academic stress in the environment dimension, 21.1% (80) of which present a high level of academic stress, and 10.3% (39) present a low level. 61.3% of the students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery have a medium level of academic stress in the dimension physical reactions, of which 58.4% in Nursing and 64.2 % in Midwifery. 57.9% of the students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery present a medium level of academic stress in the dimension psychological reactions, of which 56.8% correspond to Nursing and 58.9 % to Midwifery. 62.1% of the students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery present a medium level of academic stress in the behavioural reactions dimension, of which 61.1% correspond to Nursing and 63.2 % to Midwifery. The level of stress in the students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery is medium with 66.1% (251), followed by 21.1% (80) with a high level of academic stress, and finally 12.9% (49) with a low level. It is concluded that the level of stress in the students of the Professional Schools of Nursing and Midwifery is medium with 66.1% (251), followed by 21.1% (80) with a high level of academic stress, finally 12.9% (49) with a low level.
