The thesis entitled, Effectiveness of the prosecution of illegal trafficking of timber forest products in the Alto Amazonas Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office, years 2018-2019, aims to establish the effectiveness of the prosecution of illegal trafficking of forest products as an environmental crime in the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Environmental Matters of Alto Amazonas, years 2018-2019. The research is of an applied type, descriptive level, non-experimental, cross-sectional design; The study population and sample consisted of 32 prosecutorial folders on the crime of illegal trafficking of forest products, likewise the interview was applied to 02 judges, 02 prosecutors, and 02 lawyers linked to the processes developed in the prosecutor's office. The data collection techniques and instruments used were content analysis whose data was recorded in the documentary analysis guide and the interview questionnaire applied to justice operators. The results obtained show that of the 32 tax folders used, only 6.3%, have been sentenced; 50% of the cases are filed because the perpetrators of the crime or the possibility of proving that the crime has occurred has not been proven, 12.5% are in the accusation stage, 21.9% in the preparatory investigation and 9.4% filed due to dismissal. Therefore, it is concluded that the effectiveness of the prosecution of illegal trafficking of timber forest products in the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Environmental Matters of Alto Amazonas, years 2018-2019, is low; accepting the research hypothesis.
