The present thesis entitled "Effect of cyclosulfamuron for pre-emergent control of broadleaf weeds in rice (Oryza sativa). Lower Mayo Valley, San Martin Region", aims to determine the pre-emergence effect of cyclosulfamuron in the control of broadleaf weeds of rice in the irrigated system, as well as to determine the cost of production and the benefit/cost ratio. This experiment was carried out in the rice fields of the Cacatachi Estate of the UNSM - Tarapoto, located geographically at a latitude of 06°29'40" south, longitude 76°27'55" west, altitude 295 meters above sea level, and politically located in the District of Cacatachi, Province and Region San Martin in a tropical dry forest climate with an average rainfall of 1135 mm/year and a temperature of 25°C. The results obtained showed that cyclosulfamuron (Orysa) is efficient for the control of broadleaf weeds applied as pre-emergent in irrigated rice at a dose of 28.5 g/hectare, as shown in Treatment T1. Cyclosulfamuron showed to be an excellent controller of weeds such as Sphenoclea zeylonica, Ludwigia erecta and Eichhornia sp. Treatments T1 (28.5 g/ha of cyclosulfamuron) and T4 (Cyclosulfamuron 38.5 g + Butachlor 2 L) according to the results showed an excellent tillering with averages of 18.69 and 18.63 tillers per plant respectively; plant height both with 1.14 m; higher number of full grains per panicle, with averages of 160.03 and 162.57 grains; 1000 grain weight with 28.45 and 28.88 grams/1000-1000 seeds respectively and yield with averages of 8963.02 and 8888.02 Kg/ha-1 respectively. Finally, the economic analysis showed T4 with an index of 1.4659, followed by the T1 treatment with an index of 1.4322.
