The present research work had as objective: To determine the factors associated to postpartum hemorrhage in postpartum women attended at the Hospital II- 2 Tarapoto, 2019. Materials and methods: The type of study was descriptive, retrospective and transversal, the population was constituted by the 50 postpartum abdominal and vaginal births, which presented postpartum hemorrhage and the sample was constituted by 100% of the population. The data was collected through the review of clinical histories and was processed through the Excel and SPSS version 23 programs. The main results obtained were: Within the demographic factors, 9% presented the clinical symptoms of postpartum hemorrhage; likewise, 24% of these cases are between 36 and 45 years old, with respect to the marital status, 46% are single, 54% have completed secondary school and 72% are housewives; Among the clinical-biological factors, uterine atony predominated with 72%, followed by birth injuries with 22%, and there was tissue retention in 6%. Finally, of all the cases of postpartum hemorrhage, 76% were called mild cases, 20% were moderate cases, and only 4% were diagnosed as severe cases. In conclusion, a great presence of clinical-biological factors in postpartum hemorrhages can be observed, highlighting among them the uterine atony.
