The study is about maternal-fetal risk factors associated with the increase of cesarean sections at Hospital II-2 Tarapoto in the period from January to December 2020. The objective was to determine the maternal-fetal risk factors associated with the increase of cesarean sections at Hospital II-2 Tarapoto in the period from January to December 2020, the type of research used was non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, the population and sample used was 100 pregnant patients with cesarean sections. The technique selected for this research was the collection of clinical histories and an SPSS data collection database was used as an instrument. The results showed that the main factors associated with the increase in cesarean sections were previous cesarean section (41%), followed by gestational hypertension (31%) and cephalopelvic disproportion (17%). In relation to maternal causes, there was a statistically significant relationship (p=0.016) between maternal causes and age, with 74.8% belonging to the age group between 20 and 34 years old. In relation to fetal causes, fetal distress represented 46%, followed by dystocia of presentation with 34% and twin pregnancy with 20%, with an increase in cesarean sections. The increase in cesarean sections in relation to placental factors was 29% due to placental abruption, 26% due to placental insufficiency, 21% due to premature rupture of the placenta, 12% due to polyhydramnios, 7% due to oligohydramnios, and 5% due to chorioamnionitis.
