The objective of this work was to evaluate and determine the effect of the most efficient pruning in the development and production of the WSX 2205 F-1 hybrid tomato (Lycopersicun esculentum Mill.) Crop in the province of Lamas and to carry out the analysis cost of each treatment. The investigation was carried out on the lands of the “El Pacífico” estate owned by Mr. Jorge Luís Peláez Rivera, located politically in the district and province of Lamas, department of San Martín. The Statistical Design of Blocks Completely at random (DBCA) was used with four blocks and five treatments, with a total of 20 experimental units. The information obtained in the field was processed with the SPSS 19 statistical program, which uses the P-value as a comparator of significant differences at the confidence levels of 0.05 and 0.01 in the analysis of variance (ANVA) and the Duncan's multiple range test a P ≤ 0.05. The effect of pruning was evaluated, using five treatments: T0 (Control), T1 (Pruning with one branch per plant), T2 (Pruning with 2 branches per plant), T3 (Pruning with 3 branches per plant), T4 (Pruning with 4 branches per plant). The variables evaluated were: plant height (cm), number of flower clusters, number of flowers per cluster, fruit diameter (cm), fruit length (cm), fruit weight (g), number of fruits harvested per plant, Yield (kg.ha-1) and economic analysis. The results obtained indicate that the pruning of one branch per plant, used in the cultivation of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) Hybrid WSX 2205 F-1, was the treatment that determined the greatest effect on yield, Benefit / Cost and Net Benefit, obtaining 147,380.7 Kg. Ha-1, 3.04 Profit / Cost and a net profit of S /. 55,484.59 Nuevos Soles, respectively.
