The main objective of the research entitled "Effects of two components of riparian ecosystems on the water quality of the Pucayacu stream, Marona village, Moyobamba, 2019", was to evaluate the effects of two components (flora and soil) of riparian ecosystems on the water quality of the Pucayacu stream (physical and chemical parameters). Regarding the work methodology, eight plots were developed for characterization and four sampling points for water quality. Eight parameters were analyzed and the results showed that the following environmental quality standards were obtained: biochemical oxygen demand, total dissolved solids, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, which are within the permitted range for human consumption, while color and turbidity are outside the limits of the range for human consumption, taking into account that pH and temperature are almost within the acceptable range according to the regulations. It concluded that the effect of flora and soil on water quality is proportional to the slope with flora and water quality since, for example, the steeper the slope, the lower the tree density, the lower the organic matter, and the lower the water quality.
