"Influence of the use of sunshades on the thermal comfort of the people living in the housing complex "Las Lomas de Cacatachi" In Peru, housing support programs have been implemented for several decades, especially for social groups living in poverty, where the system allows the intermediation of construction companies in the construction of housing modules. However, in most cases, the architectural design does not take into account the minimum bioclimatic conditions, thus affecting the users, who have not been aware of this problem when acquiring a house. They show their discomfort only when they go to live, especially in tropical climates, as is the case in the housing complex "Las Lomas de Cacatachi". This problem can be mitigated through the use of passive sun control such as sunshades, which is why the objective of the research was: "To determine the influence of the use of sunshades on the thermal comfort of the people living in the housing complex "Las Lomas de Cacatachi". The pilot site for the implementation and construction of sunshades was three houses of the housing complex "Las Lomas de Cacatachi", located in the district of Cacatachi, where the owners voluntarily participated and allowed the construction of the sunshade in the living room window of their houses. A factorial design was applied: with a 2x3x3 completely randomized factorial arrangement, using a total of 6 treatments, three with sunshades and three without sunshades. The records of temperature, humidity and orientation monitoring were taken at three times: morning, noon and afternoon, during a period of 14 days, and a semi-structured interview was conducted regarding the perception of thermal sensation and humidity sensation. The results of the semi-structured interview showed that the people where the sunshades were implemented were very satisfied, compared to those who did not have sunshades. On the other hand, the use of sunshades contributes to the thermal sensation of the people living in the housing complex "Las Lomas de Cacatachi", with a significant change from the state of "hot" to "somewhat hot", moreover, they influence the sensation of humidity and temperature. It was also found that there is a significant correlation between internal temperature and relative humidity with or without sunshades. Likewise, there is a significant influence between the use of sunshades with the relative humidity and the time of registration; however, there is no significant influence between the orientations and times with respect to the relative humidity of the houses. Therefore, it can be inferred that the sunshades have a significant influence on the decrease of the internal temperature of the houses and consequently improve the thermal comfort of the people living in the housing complex "Las Lomas de Cacatachi".
