Epidemiological and clinical characteristics in women from 15 to 50 years old with breast fibroadenoma in Hospital II-2 Santa Gema Yurimaguas, 2019-2022 Breast fibroadenosis is considered to be the most frequent benign tumor in young women. The main cause is currently unknown, but several associated factors such as hormonal therapy, family history, use of oral contraceptives are mentioned. At the national and regional level, there are not many investigations regarding this pathology, which leads to a lack of knowledge about it. The aim of this study is to determine and describe the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of women between 15 and 50 years old with breast fibroadenoma. This work is non-experimental, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional, with a population of 45 women as study sample, being executed in the month of January 2024. In the research procedure, the 45 clinical histories were reviewed, then the information was compiled through a data collection form as an instrument; finally, an Excel spreadsheet was prepared with frequency and percentage tables to process the data and obtain the results. The results indicate that breast fibroadenoma affects more frequently women between 41 to 50 years old (38 %), coming from rural areas (69 %), with primary education level (71 %), being single women more affected (58 %), of mixed race (100 %), with family history of mother with diagnosis of breast fibroadenoma (11 cases), having previous pregnancy as the most relevant personal history (53 %). Likewise, the right breast was found to be the most affected (84%), and the signs and symptoms found were: presence of pain (53%), presence of the mass (100%), mobility of the mass (100%), soft consistency of the mass (96%), defined borders (98%) and no over-aggregated lesions (100%). It is concluded that breast fibroadenoma does not affect women under 40 years old, being affected women from rural areas, of mixed race, having the right breast as the most involved, characterized by: generating pain, being mobile, having defined borders, soft consistency and not having over-aggregated lesions.
