The research came about as a result that currently in the province of Moyobamba no studies have been carried out related to the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE); in addition, the Provincial Municipality of Moyobamba has not implemented a plan for this purpose. Under these conditions, the objective of this study is to determine the environmental impact generated by the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment in the city of Moyobamba, during the period from December 2021 to August 2022. In order to collect the data, a survey was applied to the 234 families that constituted the sample. Likewise, the impacts of WEEE were identified and evaluated using the impact importance matrix proposed by Conesa, and subsequently a proposal for a WEEE management plan was designed. Among the main conclusions, it was found that only 33% of the respondents knew about EEE and 31% about WEEE; there is a tendency to store WEEE at home; 60% considered that EEE does not contain toxic and/or hazardous materials while 11% stated that WEEE needs special treatment. Likewise, the WEEE that most families accumulated were 8 CRT monitors; 11 LCD monitors; 79 cell phones; 10 CRT televisions; 6 LCD televisions; 5 refrigerators; 4 washing machines; 139 electronic toys, among others. The highest concentration of heavy metals is in printers with 0.74 kg/kg, followed by electronic toys with 0.50 kg/kg, then LCD monitors with 0.46 kg/kg, laptops with 0.33 kg/kg, CRT monitors with 0.30 kg/kg and CRT televisions with 0.29 kg/kg, with the highest amount of heavy metals being lead, copper, cadmium, chromium and zinc. Finally, it was concluded that the environmental impact generated by WEEE on the soil is severe.
