This study aimed to mention the methods of controlling the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari), in the province of Moyobamba, San Martín region. Regarding the methodology, the study was descriptive and exploratory, utilizing reliable sources and bibliographic background in collecting information from coffee berry borer control analysis records. The study also described the damages caused and the methods of controlling the coffee berry borer, Hypothenemus hampei (Ferrari). The following conclusions were drawn: the damages caused by the coffee berry borer in the province of Moyobamba have a life cycle of six stages, with the larva causing the most significant problems. It attacks between 40 and 60 days after flowering, and females are the main source of fruit contamination, making it the primary pest. This directly harms the fruit, resulting in weight loss, reduced grain size, lower quality, susceptibility to pests and diseases, and a considerable decrease in yield. Additionally, over the last five years, coffee plantation installations have decreased by 10,313.10 hectares per hour, with a yield of 0.5 tons per hour at a selling price of 13.17 soles. There are seven types of control methods, with integrated management being the most suitable and timely to effectively counteract the coffee berry borer. It anticipates infestation through monitoring, which is part of cultural control. Biological control acts as a natural enemy, decreasing the population. Ethological control is widely used by coffee growers for its 70 to 80% effectiveness in the field, and chemical control is considered a last resort when there is a high population fluctuation in the coffee plantation, severely affecting yield, and rapid control is necessary.
