The objective of this research work was: To determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and academic stress in remote education in students of the Professional School of Nursing of the Universidad Nacional de San Martín. Period July-December 2021. The instruments employed for variable 1 (Coping Mechanisms) COPE 28 Questionnaire and for variable 2 (Academic Stress) SISCO Academic Stress Inventory by Barraza A. (2011). For both instruments the latest version of the aforementioned authors are considered. Materials and methods: A quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-correlational, cross-sectional study was performed because it allowed the measurement of the variables to be studied. The following results were obtained: In relation with the sociodemographic factors, 73.5% are between 18 and 20 years old, 87.7% are female, 91.6% reside in urban areas, and 20.0% are in the VII academic cycle. The 65.8% of the participants present regular coping mechanisms in remote education, followed by 22.6% good and 11.6% bad. When determining academic stress in remote education in students of the Professional School of Nursing of the UNSM, it was observed that 61.3% of the students have a medium level of academic stress, 30.3% high and 8.4% low. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship between coping mechanisms and academic stress in remote education in students of the Professional School of Nursing of the National University of San Martin.
