The research was conducted in order to assess the effect of climate change on rice production in the last 20 years in the Moyobamba province of San Martín region. The study was carried out using the following methods for data processing: Frequency distribution and graphs for descriptive summary of variables production and climate change The study was carried out using the following methods for data processing: Frequency distribution and graphs for descriptive summary of variables production and climate change; Pearson's Correlation Coefficient to measure relationship between variables, said processing was performed in the statistical program SPSS IBM Version 23. In addition, in order to determine the increase in the agricultural frontier of rice cultivation and the pressure that the forest suffers from the demand for spaces for said cultivation, LandSat image processing was done, Satellite images were analyzed, for each year of the study period. The systematization of data shows that the temperature has a highly significant positive relationship with the three indicators of rice production (sowing (ha), harvest (ha), production (tn)); relative humidity has a significant negative relationship with only two indicators of rice production, that is, with planting and harvesting, also implying influence on them; precipitation has no relation to rice production indicators, determining zero influence on them; the annual percentage variation of the activity of harvested hectares is very heterogeneous, presenting a high variability; Between 2,001 and 2,017, 58 365.71 ha of forests were lost (14.91% of the total area of the province), with 2,010 being the year with the greatest loss with 7,931.7 ha of forests.
