The objective of this study was to describe the capacities of cocoa producers in the district of San Martin Alao, province of El Dorado, San Martin 2022. The methodology of the study was descriptive and exploratory. Reliable bibliographic sources and antecedents of the last 5 years were used. The socioeconomic and technological factors were described in order to analyze the capacities of cocoa producers. It is concluded that the socioeconomic factors in the increase of capacities of cocoa producers in the district of San Martin Alao are diverse, it has an area of agricultural aptitude of 5 071 ha-1 and non-agricultural aptitude of 6722 ha-1 with 638 h-1 of cocoa, there are 453 producers. The predominant level of education is secondary with 72%, the predominant type of housing is 95.9% made of corrugated iron sheet and tile, 70% is dedicated to agriculture followed by commerce, 54% of the land is titled, the rest not so far, the families have an average annual income of S / 18 000. The technological factors for increasing the capacity of the 453 cocoa producers, 32% use medium technology, with a yield of 980 kg/ha-1, each family manages 1.4 ha-1, use fertilizers such as urea, ammonium sulfate, triple super phosphate and potassium chloride, apply pesticides to control moniliasis and witches' broom, 88% of the production is sold on the domestic market and the rest on the local market.
